Marcus Hernig wrote this travel initiary on Russian Sinologist Vassilij M. Alekseev and his adventurous 1907 journey through Northern China. He was accompanied by photographer Jan Siefke, I contributed two series of illustrations and conceptualized the book, which was published by the China Intercontinental Press in 2005, being the first German book by this publisher so far.
